Yesterday a good friend of my deceased father-in-law passed. Apple’s Mac App Store launched earlier this year with much fanfare, but I am not impressed and won’t be using the store. And not for the reasons you think. I understand the reasoning for the Mac App Store and completely agree with Apples decision to launch it. For Apple it’s a no-brainer. They get a percent of every sale and can better influence some of the applications that will run on OS X. And no one can argue the success they are still enjoying with the iOS App Store. Often visitors have or only want to spend a limited amount of time on your site and are looking for just the highlights, so why not put the highlights first? Then include the “more” link for the ones that may have more time and want or need to drill down on the details. Do you remember when you were young and your mom or dad cooked your favorite dessert?
